Meet Your Doctor

Hi, I'm Dr. Sarah Dobro

I grew up in New Jersey and landed in the Bay Area somewhat unexpectedly, moving cross-country for work and hardly knowing a soul. What I found here changed my life: I quickly found my people in the Burner and non-monogamy communities, where I deepened my values of creativity, authenticity, and compassionate communication. These communities are a core part of who I am, and their values are woven into how I practice.

I'm proudly autistic, queer and non-monogamous - identities I didn't always have words for, and that took hard work to embrace. Finding myself through that process has allowed me to live more authentically and find my people. That journey is at the heart of why I do this work, and I'm passionate about supporting my patients in doing the same.

I live in beautiful Berkeley with my partner and three snakes. Outside the clinic, you'll find me backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, cooking in the kitchen, or curled up with my latest crafting project - I'm currently knitting a baby blanket and making a custom cabinet for my snakes.

I can't wait to meet you and discover what makes you

uniquely yourself!

Warmly,

Dr. Sarah

My philosophy

I believe the best medicine happens in partnership.

You are the expert on your own life. I bring clinical knowledge, and together we think through what's present, what's possible, and what's next. My job is to be your ally and quarterback: organizing, coordinating, encouraging, and working through a plan with you at every step.

I approach every patient with respect, compassion, and genuine curiosity. That means taking your full self seriously. Whether you're navigating gender-affirming care, a mental health diagnosis, or a chronic condition, I practice with trauma-informed awareness and deep respect for the complexity of human experience.

I believe that acknowledgment and acceptance are the foundation of change. What is true is already so, and sitting with that truth, however difficult, is what frees you to act. We'll face it together, and then we'll make a plan to move forward.
